Isa Genzken: Open, Sesame!

Open, Sesame! is the motto chosen by Isa Genzken as the title for her most comprehensive solo exhibition to date. From her aerodynamic, wooden sculptures carrying incisions made in the 70s, to her recent fragile installations, her works are symbols of our existence on the fine line between beauty and destruction, fragility and brutality. The idea for this survey exhibition was born when Cologne's Museum Ludwig and the Whitechapel Gallery agreed to join forces in close collaboration.
